Block Parties

Block parties bring community together
for
food, fun & visits

by Trustee Bill Daugherty

We encourage all residents to meet their neighbors and host a block party. Drop a note at everyone's door and set up a pre-block party meeting (usually in front of someone's house). Decide on the date and you're off! Many blocks plan to bring a shared dish and have grills available to do independent cooking, while some plan the full meal. Games for children are always the highlight. Please notify Diana at Village Hall of your block party date as soon as possible and we will schedule a police officer to stop by, a fire engine to visit and, possibly, appearances by board members and the mayor. Additionally, the Village will provide barriers at each end of your block on the Friday preceding your event. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your neighbors and your elected officials.

For more information, call at Village Hall, (708) 449-8840.
